as long as he doesn't feel pressured because then it doesn't come from the heart and he'll buy it just cuz you made him feel guilty.

i had my ex buy me a promise right too, ( now i hope that this boy your talking about isn't at all like my ex) at first i thought it meant that he really cared about me and i felt really special about the whole situation.. but then again he still lied.. he still didn't keep his word.. and he didn't care about his life the way he should.... so there was really no reason for him to go out and by that ring because the only reason he got it was to MAKE ME believe that he was a good guy.. when he really wasn't... i think you should look at how long ya'll have been dating. FOR EXAMPLE if it has been like 7 or 8 months.. maybe he should get you a necklace instead.. if its been little over a year and a half and he doesn't lie to you.. and he’s a really good guy then i think ya'll should.. and you also have too look at how old the two of ya'll are.. because i don't know.. because if your young.. life changes even if you don't want it to. People change.. nothing is in stone...if your older ( like 21 +) then i think you know if he is a good choice because you have experience.. because trust me girl it is always harder to take a ring off then it is to put it on ... be smart about this one !!!

Personally, I don't believe in promise rings. Just date, if you are meant to get married, then eventually you will. Then you get an engagement ring/wedding ring. But, techinally he is just suppose to buy you one.

i think thats awesome! I'd ask mine for one, but it wouldn't be as special as if he got it for me on his own. plus they are expensive, beautiful, and a wonderful idea, but they cost. i'm not even sure he knows that they exist....
cool that yours is getting you one though.
