When my cat gets comfortable he has his legs stretched straight back and his arms out the same way. he looks almost as flat as a pancake. i have had many cats in the past as well as the other three i have now and i have never seen one who seemed to stretch the same way. its looks as if his legs and arms are broken. is it possible that my kitty is double jointed or something?

Actually there is no such thing as "double jointed" for humans or any other creature. That is just a 'saying' meaning some people or cats in this case, are more flexible than others.

I have two cats who do precisely the same thing. Most of my life I have had cats who are able to contort themselves into odd positions. Personally I think it's funny and I enjoy photographing my cats in such positions.

Yes, it is very much true that he/she may be double jointed, but just to be procoucious, i would suggest on taking it to the vet just for an x-ray or health check up. But other then that you should have a healthy cat!

Definitely. And it's more common for cats than for humans.
