im a guy and a lot of people say im pretty. like when they describe what they think of me pretty is often used. never called handsome or whatever else. very good looking is the only other one used on occasion. i dont have much luck with girls as all my relationships are over in a few months. i guess i do pay attention to my appearance a lot and like to look good but im wondering if it may be hurting me. like maybe girls dont like guys that are pretty. its really making me kinda angry and confused. anyone have advice.

Dude, you never want to be called "pretty". Pretty guys have tough times getting a pretty girl. They are just guys who pretty girls like talking to. You want to be called hot, cute, or handsome.

Pretty comes into play for a guy when he is waaaayyyy beyond just being handsome. That is not a bad thing but a really really good thing. Being pretty and self absorbed (never meet a mirror you don't like) is a bad bad thing.

I am a guy and I can appreciate a "pretty" man but not if he is too *****. Most pretty men end up being f&ags because then they get the admiration and worship they feel they deserve.

Girls always cannot abide a guy being better looking than they are so regretably, you will always have problems in that area.

if i say a guy is pretty, he has a baby face and soft features. i think it's a very attractive thing if a guy is pretty. it would not cause anyone to break up with you. have confidence in your looks and be proud that you are sometimes called "pretty" instead of handsome. beauty is in the eye of the person looking - some may think you are average and some may think hot dam gorgeous...dont' focus on it, rather be you and confident and eventually a relationship will work out. :)

haha we have the same issue.Being pretty is a good thing and its not gay.I do my eyebrows(just trim)and pay close attention to my haircut and facial hair but I just wanna look presentable,Im not gay.Girls love pretty boys, you might just have bad luck with relationships.Find "bad girls" to go out with opposites attract and they seem to like pretty boys alot,I found my last girlfriend at a bikers club. I didnt fit in but she was all over me and now what? Were married with a wonderful baby.So dont let it get to you,you just havent found the right girl.

iv described a guy as pretty before, iv used the term as a good thing. though i cant speak for everyone to me if a guy is 'pretty' he a little preppy or very clean cut. which is generally a good thing :) dont worry about it though, you will find the right girl who will think you are drop dead gorgeous :)

The term pretty is normally used for girls or for gay guys.
You might come across as something other then a guy who is looking for a girl

try not to look too feminine. i think that they may be saying that to put it in light terms that you may take too much time on your appearance. try putting on a baseball cap and torn jeans to man it up a little. get a little scruffy....that may help. women love men that are men, not men taking more time to get ready than women.
