What do you think punishment should be for people or kids who light bushfires? Something that will stop them from doing it?

Firstly i think some of these kids need counselling to find out why they are doing it and then get treatment if needed.
Secondly i think community service to help clean up after the fire and to confront the victims of the fire- lost houses, family members, pets, property, etc.
Thirdly repeat offenders should get a jail term of at least 1 year or more depending on the severity of the fire.
The fine system isn't working now because it's mostly young people so their parents end up paying the fine and the kid gets off with a slap on the wrist.
They should also have a perminate criminal record!
More needs to be done to stop these rat bags!

Punishment should start with a charge for attempted manslaughter as far as I am concerned, this season is dangerous enough without some half brained idiot causing more damage. Also based on the findings last year in regards to 30 something volunteer firefighters being arsonist (known) they may have to consider a psych test before they are accepted.

I only just said to my hubby that they should shoot them lol
but seriously they should be punished by going to a boys home
no use just saying naughty little boys
my kids & myself when we were young knew right from wrong
the authorities today are crazy not to punish all these louts & that is what they are & if they never get taught they will grow up to be bad adults

Life in prison in the middle of high risk fire area. This way they can worry their heads off when a fire is close by. After all, they cause this type of horror to people who live in these areas.

Airlift them into the middle of the fire,dump them there.
They wont do that again.
