Well I chose my name because I read that Taoist sages rejected positions of authority, lived lives "tossed by waves and blown by wind" and aspired to forget everything and become one with the Tao.
These 'Real People' as they were called would probably appear to an uneducated person as a tramp, a nobody.
So my name is a little reminder to myself not to show off so much, to be more modest and just to do what is necessary.
Not sure it's working but it amused me to chose it at the time! Perhaps I should have chosen "Thinks too much"!
Thanks for sharing everyone. I found all your answers most touching. And thanks for the question Pangel!

lol sure. Mine's about as mundane as yours :o)
My name is stolen. NOT, as everybody sadly seems to think, from the German guy who sang "Rock Me Amadeus", but from one of my favourite literary characters, the Roman 'detective' Marcus Didius Falco, in the series of novels by Lindsey Davis,w which I recommedn to anyone with a sense of humour.
I chose the name as an alias when joining an online writing board to add a literary theme. It was the board on which I met the woman who is now my wife, and the persona just sort of "stuck" over time.
As an example of the character's nature, and one of the reasons I love it (and I think, share it) so much, I offer this quote from the latest novel, "Saturnalia."
"Anacrites and I had worked together before. Don't let me mislead you into thinking I despised him. He was a festering fistula of pestilential pus. I treat that kind of evil only with the greatest respect."
(apologies to Ms Davis if the quote is slightly off, which I think it is. I don't own the book yet, I'm quoting from one bookstore viewing!)
:o)

Raven's Voice comes from a couple of different areas of my life, but I chose it here because of this (part of a poem; the whole thing is at the link below):
The Voice of the Raven
I am the Voice of the Raven Upon Wind.
My harsh cries echo long upon the Earth and Air:
Nothing is Forever,
Not Life,
not Love,
not Death,
nor Loss.
Only change is eternal,
and only destruction
can the seed of creation form.
My wings bear me between
Darkness and Light,
Land and Sky,
the Garden and
the Wildwood.

When I used the name SPOOKY, it's because I, like Fox "Spooky" Mulder, was seeking answers to many questions. This particular category just screams paranormal, supernatural, etc. It seemed a logical choice.
Red Queen comes from , not Alice in Wonderland as you might assume, but from the movie and video game RESIDENT EVIL. The Red Queen controls the hive in Raccoon City, and it's Alice who has to defeat her. So I guess they do tie together in an offhand sort of way, but I like the idea of controlling something totally, especially when my life is so completely out of sorts all the time.
Red Queen is also an evolutionary theory explaining the evolution of sex.

My choosen name was given to me through meditation. I asked for a suitable Witchy name whilst in med, and "them upstairs" as i call them, gave me Solista. I have since learnt that it is spanish for sole person!. I never knew this, and never heard it before in my life. I was a solitary Witch at the time, but now work with my partner, but the name stays. Also, the first part of the name Sol, means sun. Bright and happy me :)

well the Avitat name that shows here is Chris J,,
quite easy to guess really, if you look at my 360 it will show as Yogi. and that is a long story.
several years ago i joined a LARP (live action role playing) group called Amtgard. they do foam weapons combat and follow a medieval/fantasy theme.
my persona for that game was Yageri Dragonbane.
many of the younger kids could not pronounce Yageri, and because of the popularity of Yu-Gi-Go they started calling me
Yu-Gi. and to the very young ones this sounded like Yogi.
cap that with the fact thet Yogi Bear is one of my favourite cartoon characters thet Hannah-Barbara made it seemed to fit, and on top of that i am a Bear totem, and everyone knows this. so the name stuck.
now 90 percent of people that i know call me Yogi, and i like the name.
