Some are wary of strangers but most are confident in friend making! They are exelent with children and will protect endangered children. They have a high activity leveland their needs are attention, exercise and training. They have afew helth concerns as in Breathing Problems, Cardiac Problems, Hip Dysplacia, and Thyroid Disease. by coat, terriers come in smooth (pitt bulls), wire (scottish terriers) and soft (kerry blues)

terriers can also be typed by region, such as the british isles, european, american and asian, there are type differences, size diffences and other small differences

when i think of terriers i tend to think of wirehaired fox terriers, the quintecential wire coated vermin hunter.
