I would give it back. It makes everything final * if thats what you want* and it sends him the message that you are moving on. Thats prob why he wont dicuss the issue he may not want to move on.
I really hope thats not to confusing and it helps

is it the norm to return gifts when people break up? I personally never thought it necessary and never did so. Am sure the other party is not expecting to get them back - in fact, nobody should expect to get back what they'v given in the first place, unless pre-agreed upon. I won't bother, I'd just keep everything and what I don't like anymore, probably just give them away or dump them.

If it's stuff you'd rather not keep, return it to him. If it's stuff like gifts or memorabilia from your relationship, put it in a memory box or something so that someday when the pain of whatever happened isn't so fresh, you can look at it fondly. GOOD LUCK!

If he doesn't want it back after you offer do what you want with it, burn it throw it away whatever. When he finally asks for it back tell him you got rid of it when he didn't want it back.
