This is an age-old question but I've never been able to understand it. After a date, why does the guy say he'll call and then never does. Why even say it at all? Why not instead say, I had a good evening, give me a hug and then just end it at that?

Well today was super bowl sunday......I'm sure he was caught up in that. If he doesn't call back then oh well. Move on to the next.

You are right--it is an age old way to end the date gracefully---so learn not to sit by the phone waiting---another age old thing---girls wait and wait curled up on the couch crying in the tissues---They seem to have actually believed the guys way of saying goodnight. What else can they say after a kiss--wash your car??? Mow the lawn??? I only hope your dates are fun and someday a guy will be making phone calls after a fun evening. Good luck and have a nice life.

cuz those guys are idiots. ive been on disastrous dates but never said id call. most guys just dont have guts and arent honest. maybe theyre afraid youll be mad or think that youd be crushed if they refused to see you again. sometimes its ego, and sometimes its fear of hurting you. either way its lying. face it, you really wouldnt want to be with a liar anyway right? so you dodge bullets when that happens to you. so many people are liars today anyway, so try to look on the bright side. just plug away and itll go right someday.

becasue the guy is not intrested. and her doesnt want to hurt the females feeling so it cusion the blow. a woman expecate for a guy to call. but 8/ out of 10 a guy would call back just for sex and braodom.....
this what i do i give them my number and see if he calls and always have extra men on the side bc a guy from 19 to 32 men dont take things serously

The guys only say that to keep your hopes up. Why else? You could always confront him and ask them why. There may even be a mens code for "What to tell a girl." Imagine all the things in that.
