There is a stigma about going to therapy, people dont want to be labled as crazy. People with certan mental disorders can be unwilling to go to therapy because they are embarrased about being the way they are (especially in the case of OCD). Schizophrenics often think that the therapist or others are trying to hurt them. Others think that they should be able to fix the problem themselves. There are lots of reasons people don't want to go into therapy, but most of the time if a person really needs to go you can convince them to try it eventually, if only to proove you wrong.

First off, as cherry said many people do consistently deny that they have problems. Yet second, it is often hard for one to realize that they have problems. Still, when one admits that they have problems that need medical attention, they may be reluctant to obtain such help because they are 1) scared of the unknown 2) scared of the consequences of their thoughts/actions/situation or 3) simply afraid of health professionals. IMHO the best way to get someone to go to therapy is to first convince them of its importance and then explain to them how it will help and why it is of the utmost importance. Add detalis to your question if you need more info. Have a great day!

Jake
