Most antibiotics are safe with alcohol! A example of one that isn't is metronidazole- it makes you vomit. Data sheets-the paper insert in the antibiotic packet will tell you if there is a problem with any individual antibiotic, also if there is an important interaction the pharmacy computer will mark it on the label. If given a prescription ask you GP or pharmacist at the time for specific advice.

just drink the alcohol and forget the antibiotics and if you keep drinking you will forget what you were taking them for anyway

thats a myth--theres only a few types u cant drink on coz u will be violently sick. alcohol doesnt affect the antibiotics atall, jst get u drunk quick and gives u a bad hangova!!

Its an urban myth that you cant take alcohol with antibiotics. There is one antiobiotic that you SHOULD NOT take with alcohol and that is Metronidazole. It will make you vomit and feel unwell.
Take your antiobiotics and have a drink...all will be well

you can drink with antibiotics though it tends to detract their useful properties and make them less effective however there are some antibiotics such as metroniadazole (flagyl) really doesn't react well with alcohol and can make you quite nauseous

Drinking alcohol whilst on anti-biotics just slows them down from doing their job a bit.
