During peace time, military doctors will often perform plastic surgery to practice techniques that are useful in dealing with combat injuries. It is possible to get elective surgery if the conditions are right. I'm not sure this is a good time, but check with your local military medical facility.

i'm more with nimo on that one, and tricare prime will cover some of it, you'll pay some outta pocket but if you can convince your doctor that you need it for medical reasons they will cover a good chunk of it. Especially if you let the army doctors do it. If you go to a civilian doctor yeah it's mostly or all out of your own pocket. I've never heard of a recuiter making someone remove breast implants. I wouldn't mention you have them and it won't come up until meps prolly. I've heard of recuiters "advising" people to get certain tatoo's removed but that's completely different.

Yes, you can join the Army if you have implants, and yes, you can get implants if you are in the Army. I know girls in my husband's unit who had them before they joined, and others who got them after they joined. The only thing is that if you are in the Army and get implants you wouldn't get medical leave to go get them, you'd have to be on your own leave, and you'd have to have enough leave time to recover from the surgery. The Army wouldn't grant you medical leave to recover from the surgery either. And if you had complications from the surgery and had to miss more time from work, or couldn't perform your duties because of those complications, you'd probably get in trouble.

I am not looking up the reg but I've seen a few surgically altered :D breasts in the military. I'm assuming that it's ok. But check with your recruiter if you're thinking about joining. Check the regs before you decide if you're already in

The military isn't going to be impressed by any advice you received here. Ask through proper channels, so you get factual information.
