I take 200mg of seroquel at night and it causes severe dry mouth. I also take paxil. It causes drymouth to.
I JUST GOT MY PILLS CHANGED THO IF YOU ARE TAKING SEROQUEL PLEASE TRY TO GET SOMETHING ELSE. I AM HAVING SEVERE SIDE EFFECTS AND SO IS EVERYONE I KNOW THAT IS ON IT. THE DOCTOR SHOULD BE MONITORING YOUR BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS. THIS MEDICINE CAUSED ME TO HAVE DIABETES. SEVERE THIRST IS A COMMON INDICATOR OF DIABETES AND THYRIOD PROBLEMS.

I take 60 mg of Cymbalta as well and have done so for approx 2 yrs.I did have dry mouth in the beginning, but it has since gone away. You did not say how long you've been on it, therefore if its something fairly new, maybe you need to give it more time. If its been awhile, I know I switched mine and take it before I go to bed. Works fine! I know some people say that it inhibits sleep. But I've not had that problem, but then everybody is different. If I can't sleep, its usually not because of the Cymbalta, its other things going on.If you are still new to it, I'd either #1. give it more time, #2. ask your doc about switching from am to pm to take it, #3.this may help if you take both together and if it works in the pm, you maybe able to totally eliminate the sleeping pill entirely.

A lot of psychiatric drugs cause dry mouth. I had incredible dry mouth when I took an old fashioned antidepressant called Desipramine or Norpramin. I take Seroquel right now, and it gives me dry mouth with a really nasty taste; I usually brush my teeth right away when I get up and it feels better.
I know the other person said 'hydrate, hydrate', and that's right, but please make sure the doctor knows how much water you're drinking. I used to work in a mental hospital and a lot of patients have problems with water intoxication--they will drink so much water they get dizzy.
Have you ever taken any of the older antipsychotic drugs like Haldol or Prolixin? A lot of people who took those had problems with water intoxication.
Are you sure your doctor is "baffled?" I'm not a doctor but it doesn't sound that unusual to me; or maybe it's not expected with the new drugs like Seroquel and Cymbalta.
