O.K. I'm a 14 year old female. whenever i go out with my friends i ALWAYS end up sharing drinks with them and stuff. And I have been kissing guys. Now I'm not trying to sound like I WANT it, but how have I not gotten Mono? [kissing disese] I'm not saying i want it, I'm just saying if im constantly sharing saliva by kissing poeple, and sharing drinks and everything, how gave i not gotten it yet? It's kinda weird. I'm just wondering.

What other things can cause mono?
Thanks for your Help! :)

Why do you want it??? It's life threatening.

The only way to get mono is to come in contact with someone who has it. Obivously all the people you shared drinks with etc were not infected with mono.

kayy,

Having had mononucleosis, (put me in the hospital for a week!) I assure you it's not something you want to contract. It's highly contagious...yeah, you can get it from kissing someone who's a carrier (hence the nickname 'kissing disease') or, as was suspected with my contracting it, it could be spread by something as simple as a kitchen worker (a carrier) coughing on some silverware.

Mono wreaks total havoc on a body...high fevers, dehydration, and enlarged internal organs, to name a few. If you were to contract it, you would know something was wrong...you would be quite ill.

first of all, I am more concerned that you don't care that you're constantly kissing people. there are other things you can catch - like herpes that you should be worried about.
you are 14. if you want to kiss people you should really be more responsible with your body - and have respect for other peoples too. if you think they do't mind - they will if you're spreading a disease that you may already have and don't know it.
be more respectful to your body, please. If I sound rude, I apologise, I care about things like this. Get a boyfriend or girlfriend (whatever you truly want - and someone you like - and make sure that they don't have this problem of kissing people
it's not as harmless as you think.

Why are you obsessing over this? You may never get it - don't worry about it. And why are you "constantly" sharing saliva? You're only 14. Don't kiss anyone, and don't share drinks. Easy.
