Leave her alone. The birthing process is natural for dogs. She will do everything needed for her puppies....depending on her age. Hopefully, she is at least 2 years old. Put her in a quiet, warm area of the house with a nesting box. You do not want a lot of people around her. You can offer her food and water. She should be eating a high quality puppy food until the puppies are weaned.
The labor stage can last up to 24 hours, but she should never go more than 30 minutes actively pushing without producing a puppy. If she starts having any difficulty or does not produce a pup after 20 to 30 minutes of actively pushing, call an emergency vet or your own vet (if it is open) immediately.
You can go to veterinarypartner.com to get credible information about birthing and caring for puppies.
Good luck.

ok first get her a comfortable place to lay then leave her alone and let her do it alone then while shes giving birth call the vet just in case for an easy contact and make sure she does not get up and start walking because my cat and dog both did that and stuff was hanging out there butts!!!

ive had this problem many times. Well first call a vet or if you dog starts to ave heavy panting, gets tired, go to a vet quick. You would do this to make sure that the puppy doesn't get stuck in the mother. I hoope this helps.!!! GOOD LUCK!

Watch her and call the vet if she shows any signs of distress. She will probably be fine but occasionally they do have problems. Have her spayed as soon as she gets these pups raised.

Keep other animals away ... watch and learn something.
At least, if the mother lets you do so. If she doesn't want
you around, it will be pretty clear.
Dogs have been having puppies for a lot longer
than humans have had them as pets. They know
what to do!
