My pup is 7 weeks old, and I'm very concerned about his gait. He's very clumsy, and he can't walk in a straight line, and tends to "hop" instead of run. He looks very strange when he jumps backwards, compared to his sister. They are both JTR/Border Collie mix. Can anyone identify what's wrong with him? I don't believe he has hip displasia...

First I would have your vet examine his eye sight. It could also be a neurological problem, or it may just be slow development. I would first see a vet and see if you can rule out health issues. To put your mind at ease it may even be your puppies personality

He's a puppy they are supposed to be clumsy but it wouldn't hurt to have a vet check him if it will make you feel better.

He may have inner ear problems. Keep watch, and if he doesn't soon improve, take him to the vet.

it may be nothing at all other than he is developing......if he can run and jump and walk i would just watch him carefully and monitor him.....hes still a baby and all babies develop at different rates.....or it could just be that he's a cults.....some dogs are....
