Hmmm... Regarding my own life-- yes, it would be great as I am somewhat newly self-employed. But, really the question isn't very fair without taking into account the location where you live and the type of job. $75K is great for some fields, mediocre for others and terribly low for some more. Also, an accountant in Boise, Idaho will not make the same as an accountant with the same skills, etc in Chicago.

My husband and I would have loved to make $75,000 a year while our children were growing up, in fact, I wouldn't mind having that kind of money now!! If the money is managed properly and you don't live above your means, you will do well on 75K. What gets people into trouble is that they want everything right away and that kind of thinking can plunge a person to the bottom no matter what kind of money you make if you aren't careful.

You have to factor in the location because in some cities, that like making only 40,000 in others. I live in the mid west and one can live a very comfortable life with that.
