Me and some friends went to a community dance, but i didn't want to grind with a guy because i kinda didn't know how, and i also didn't really want to dance like that with some random guy...

NO! your not a prude you answered your own ques. you did not want to dance like that with some random guy, and you don't need to know how to dance if you are grinding he was not the one O K

I think prudishness has more to do with
how you view OTHER people's behavior.
That is, if you looked down on somebody
else dancing with this guy, you are
arguably a prude.
In your case, you are using your most basic
instincts to protect yourself and have a good
time.

Nope.... if it makes you uncomfortable... don't ever do it.
Just because others don't mind doing things like that.. doesn't mean its for you..
Trust your instincts...
and if your friends give you grief tell them its your life to run.. not theirs...
It's easy to go with the flow... to be accepted... but not if its going to mean you feel like garbage after it was over...
I wouldn't like to feel that I let myself be told what I should or shouldn't do...
Stick to your gut feeling!
