Jesus said God the Father is greater than him because he sent Jesus. Both of them are two distinct people who are equally powerful but not the same person. It doesn't make much sense to me either but they are one God too. This is a bad analogy but it's like a book that has a length (The Father), width (Jesus), and height (Holy Spirit) but is still only one book.

God is way more powerful than Jesus.
Jesus never even tried to match powers with God, cause he already knew that God is stronger.

Satan is Jesus's half-cousin, and the both of them together are not even as strong as God.

Plus, God has a disgusted attitude, and is not amused by anything. And neither of them want to mess with him.

If you are looking for a Christian answer, the best place to start is in the Bible.

The Bible is made up of 66 individual books. The four that I want to mention are Genesis (the first book), Matthew and John (both written after Jesus spent his 33 years on earth) and 1 Corinthians (a letter written to Christians).

The first sentence in the book of Genesis is "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth". The first chapter of Genesis describes how God spoke the world into existance. He is therefore the creator of everything.

In the first chapter of John is the well known paragraph "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him. Without him was not anything made that has been made."

That sounds quiet confusing. Here is the key to that statement: In the original language (Greek), the phrase "the word" can also be translated as "the reason" or "the reason why".

Try reading that passage again, with the alternative translation: "In the beginning was the reason why, and the reason why was with God, and the reason why was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him. Without him was not anything made that has been made."

The book of John later states that this "Word" or "reason why" is Jesus. Therefore, God is the creator and Jesus is the reason why everything was created.

Strangely, God and Jesus are referred to as different people and yet the one God in the same paragraph. It is a truth that is worth investigating.

Throughout other Biblical books where Jesus' words are recorded, Jesus consistently referred to God as "my God and father". Therefore, Jesus considered them to be separate persons.

In the book of Matthew, Jesus stated that "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me". The one who gives authority has more authority than the one who receives it.

The book of 1 Corinthians includes the following description of Jesus in the end times: "Then the end will come, when he (Jesus) hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has done away with every ruler and every authority and power. For he must rule until God puts all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be done away with is death, for 'God has put everything under his feet.' Now when he says, 'Everything has been put under him,' this clearly excludes the one who put everything under him. But when everything has been put under him, then the Son himself will also become subject to the one who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all. "

It is clear that God and Jesus are not the same person, as we understand people. It is also clear that God has more authority than Jesus.

Yet they are the same God.

It seems reading the old testament God the father is, in the new testament Jesus takes over the domain of earth and gives it back to the father now Jesus worshipped God the father and submitted to him as the final authority so I have to conclude that it would be God the father.

Depends on what sect of christianity you believe in. Catholics believe in the holy trinity (God, Jesus and the holy ghost) whereas other sects don't and would answer that God is more powerful because Jesus is his son and God is the Father and they are separate.

Hope that helps!

Jehovah God is more powerful, and Jesus is his son. So No they are not the same person, nor are they part of a trinity. It is Jehovah God, Jesus, Jehovah's son.

This question ie really heavy and i appologize if i stand on somebody's feelings. read this answer in scientifuc manner!!!!

the defination of God is that he is one, inique and un-comparable. so definetly God is more- no most- umm no infinty powerful. it's actually a mis-conceptions that God has a son (pagan myths). if really God has a son than you are saying their are two Gods... which is basiclly contradicting the first and basic defintion of God.(that he is unique and un-comparable) so remember jesus was a prophet and well God is God....
