My ENT put me on Guaifenesin a few years ago. 2 600mg tablets twice daily. Its availabe over the counter under the brand name Mucinex but there are many generics over the counter much cheaper. The more fluids you drink with this medication the better it works. I suggest getting on an allergyu preventative such as zyrtec or singulair and staying on it. It wont help you with this bout but it will help future problems. The Guaifenesin will deffinitely help it runs its course. I used to have sinus headaches that were so bad I would pass out and wind up in the hospital My ENT wanted to do surgery after giving me a CAT scan but I did not go that route. The Guaifenesin has helped me remain sinus headache free for several years now, prevented chest congestion and helped sinus outbreaks run their course much faster.

It does sound like sinuses. My sinuses have been bothering me the last few days also. You might try taking some tylenol sinus medicine. It usually works for me. Good Luck!

To clear sinuses (all of them). put a pinch of salt in 1/2 cup warm water, and sniff it up your nose. (over the sink of course). Get a cool mist humidifier, and add a pint of hydrogen peroxide to the gallon tank, and run it at night while you sleep. Your body makes hydrogen peroxide, this is not a foreign molecule, and it will help disinfect the outside, while your body is working to clean up the inside.
