There is absolutely nothing wrong with same-sex marriage and gay adoption. Many homosexual relationships are more loving and caring than heterosexual relationships.

i do not ideas both way. My merely reservation should be on the adoption the front; there is small minded human beings available and that i ought to hate the infant to struggle through any bullying or discrimination because they were raised with assistance from similar sex mom and father. So i imagine if there's a determination of a baby being followed with assistance from a heterosexual couple over a similar sex couple, and all different factors were equivalent, e.g. monetary stability, suitability, good section etc. i ought to ought to bypass in favour of the heterosexual couple. this isn't to say that throughout some circumstances, an identical sex couple would not be chosen over a heterosexual couple. i have self belief it has no longer something to do with what sex you're as to how good a make sure you're making. notwithstanding, relating my previous element, i understand all toddlers favor to be an identical as their friends and similar sex mom and father can cause them to diverse to others which the infant would resent.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with it!
They say: A child can't be raised correctly without a mother- and father-figure.
I say: What about single, hetersexual parents who don't want to remarry, or even marry in the first place?

They say: The kids will get confused and grow up scarred for life.
I say: And divorce doesn't do that, either?

They say: A child could be molested by the parental figure.
I say: Like a heterosexual mother/father hasn't molested her/his own son/daughter before?

They say: God doesn't allow it-- God made two sexes for a reason.
I say: Seperation of religion and state!

They say: Homosexual couples will only produce homosexual children.
I say: Oh, really? Do heterosexual couples only produce hetersexual children?

There are no good reasons to support homosexuals being able to adopt , but there are so many reasons for it. Children need warm, loving homes, and anyone can give that!

No one can give one fact based reason why same-sex marriage can be prevented.

I am not attracted to other men, so I choose not to marry other men. No one is forcing anything on me. Two dudes getting married does not have any affect on my relationships with women. If your religion says that SSM is wrong, don't mary someon of your sex.

Inevitably, some one will say that homosexuality is connected with child abuse. The fact is most child molesters are HETEROSEXUAL MEN"

*82%* of all child sex abuse victims are female. Does this mean that heterosexual men should not be trusted around young girls. No, that would be rediculous.

Anti gay marriage people, don't force the rest of us to be restricted by your archaic religious "beliefs" and your bigotry.

What's wrong is that you didn't say "two consenting adults of the same sex who have the capacity to provide a good safe home for a child".
That should be the question.

I couldn't agree more. The politicians can't make up their minds since it is a moral issue (of course religions shouldn't be affecting our government decisions....) What really boggles my mind is that there are many single parents out there who are opposed to same sex marriage/parenting. There has been so many studies done on how much a child is missing out with one parent out of the picture. Why would anyone be against a child having both parents (regardless of their sex)?

marriage is a term defined by a decree of God
"the two shall become one flesh" in Genesis

perhaps domestic partnership for people with long term commitment might be an alternative, but in my opinion should include non sexual domestic partners like two sisters who lived together for decades who are indeed a family although non sexual... most family relationships in fact are not sexual

children welfare probably should not be determine by what is poltitically correct.... is there any data looking at children raised both ways and see which provides the more secure stable environment in the long run. My guess is there is not, but as in the case of education proposals there are often many proposals ofen based heavily ideology than careful research

Homosexual people already have a right to marry. They have just as much a right to marry a member of the opposite sex as anybody else.

As for adoption, there are thousands of married heterosexual couples on years-long waiting lists, waiting to adopt.

Given that kids need MOTHERS and FATHERS, these married couples should be first in line.

It's what's best for the kids, sir or madam -- adoption is not about fulfilling gay couples' desires or helping them push their social agenda. The kids should always come first.

A civilization has the right to impose morality on the citizens that live there. Everybody in this country in theory can be involved in government. I believe that I am doing right when I obey what God wants me to do. Such as how I vote. I do not want to ever judge any body. But we need to have moral limits on our behavior. I base my morals on what God has said in the Bible.

A.C. is really quite amazing: "I agree, but it's still wrong." !!!

I'll never understand why people are so obsessed with OTHER people's sex lives. Some days I can barely muster the energy to take an interest in my own....

Absolutely nothing is wrong with that. I welcome responsible people for adopting children who need loving homes and parents. I welcome responsible people for getting married and paying the marriage penalty in income taxes and share the nation's debt load.
