Every child is different when it comes to toilet training. When your child realises that they want to go to the toilet they will train easily. I started my son at 2 and he wasn't quite ready. He couldn't recognize the feeling of wanting to go. I waited another 6 weeks and he was trained within a week. It is all about trial and error. Give it a go and if it doesn't work out wait a few more weeks and try again. Lots of praise is needed when they do go in the potty or toilet and if they do have a mistake, well so be it. Don't make a huge deal out of them wetting or soiling their pants. They will get there in the end. Happy training.

I have two boys and I trained both of them at 2 1/2. The older trained in about two weeks and the other took about a months just because he was more stubborn about doing number two in the toilet. The older has been trained for almost two years but he still pees at night and during his naps. The younger has been trained for almost a year and he doesn't pee at night or during the day.

there is a funny thing about toilet training it's very age specific most children start showing interest at about 2yrs but it does vary. the best time to start is when your child shows interest in wanting to learn to be a BIG boy. when you notice dry nappies after a night sleep or a nap that's a really good sign to start and go for it. it takes time but by being consistent and offering the opportunity to sit on the toilet before putting on a new nappy/ changing a nappy your child can gain confidence to develop this new skill.

It is best to start training a boy at age 2 that is a good age because it isnt too young but you also havent waited too long at an awkward stage of life either. boys can be a little funny about potty training so its best to hit it head on at the middle age of 2

i started when my son was walking steady and he only went like 20 percent of the time until he was about 1 1/2 and then i started toilet targets fruitloops are good or little pieces of colored tissue paper (giftwrapstuff) in the shape of stars and boats or what ever i cut out and then i would put him backwards on the toilet and told him to sink it and it was a fun game and also i took diapers completely away except at night and he only peed his pants twice before he realized it feels yucky........then he was potty trained

i don't think there is a difference in age when it comes to potty training boys or girls. for the most part it's when the child shows signs of being ready themselves. does your boy know when he has peed or pooped? if so it would be ok to bring out a potty and start telling him if you feel like you have to..... go here. then just let him go sit and hang out on the potty when you and daddy are in the bathroom getting ready to go somewhere or putting on your makeup ect.once he goes even a tinkle and see's how happy everyone is about it he'll start picking up on going before he "goes" good luck.

Start slowly introducing him to it when he is 2 and try to have it accomplished by the time he is 3. When progress has been made make sure to put underwear on him reminding him not to get them wet. When he is most comfortable with it, show him how to do it like a "big boy" and he will be thrilled by the idea of being like his daddy, older brother, or another male figure... Good luck!

my grnson is 2 and doing very well. Alot of people never start a boy til age 3. All kids are different. Start when you want to but he may not be interested, so then try a few mo. later.

trained my son at the time was 3 I thought wow I should've started training him at 1. It's alot easier. once they get older it's so hard.
