Cold sores are caused by a virus called herpes (say: hur-peez). Herpes is one of the most common viral infections in the world. The medical name for the specific virus that causes cold sores is herpes simplex.
There are two types of herpes simplex infection: herpes simplex virus one (called HSV-1 for short) and herpes simplex virus two (called HSV-2 for short). Although both can cause cold sores around a person's mouth, most are caused by HSV-1.
HSV-1 is so common that most Americans get infected with it, although many never have any symptoms. People can catch HSV-1 by kissing a person with a cold sore or sharing a drinking glass or utensils, so it's easy to see why there are so many cold sores around.
There are products out there such as Abreva that you apply topically. They dry the blister out and make a "crusty coating." If it is really bad call your doctor. There is an Rx called Valtrex that was made for Genital Herpes but does actually speed the recovery for fever blisters.
A cold sore is only going to last one or two weeks. In the future try to stay out of the wind (something like skiing), and the sun. Drink plenty of water too. You can take L-lysine which you can by at any GNC, health food store, or most pharmacies.

I REALLY wanted you to know that you can EASILY never have to deal with another horrible, awful, nasty cold-sore for the rest of your life!!
I got them every winter my whole life until 3 years ago (I'm 36 now) and they were the BANE of my existence...the whole process took weeks to heal and would leave a scar for at least 2 months sometimes!
I was reading a message board on www.curezone.org and discovered the PERFECT remedy for both healing them and preventing them completely:
OLIVE LEAF EXTRACT
http://curezone.com/foods/oliveleaf.html...
So, I buy the liquid tincture by "HerbPharm" and it has not failed me ONCE...Whenever I'm feeling drained, tired, stressed, or get that tingly feeling on my lip, I just load up on this stuff.
This is the one I buy: http://www.myvitanet.com/olleafex1ozh.ht...
You can also get Olive Leaf at Whole Foods Market, and other natural food stores.
Very cheap.
The first time I tried it, I was actually halfway into a major eruption and I drank a bunch of the extract in some water.
AS I WAS DRINKING the stuff down, I could feel the swelling on my lip shrinking...I was in such shock--I ran to the mirror--it was shrinking before my eyes and within ten minutes my lip had returned to NORMAL...I began kissing the bottle of Olive Leaf...yeah, I really did!!
I had tried everything in the past...I can't begin to tell you the WARS I had with these evil sores!
Well, I can finally say: I WON !!!

I got identified with the herpes simplex virus (type 2) about three years back, whilst I was still in college and had a silly one-night stand. I know lots of people say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a mistake that one time and suddenly it seemed like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date guys again. After all, who wants to go out with someone that has sores round her "you know what" area? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/aPzm2 everything got better.
Not only was I able to remove all remnants of the herpes virus from my body in less than three weeks, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so blessed to write that just last week, in front of everyone in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!!! This system gave me back the opportunity to be happy and experience real love again. Now I hope that I can help others too by sharing this story.

If you have blisters on your lips, those are probably cold sore (herpes simplex)
The ones inside your mouth could be canker sores.
They just have to work through their viral stages. But if they are real bad, see a doctor for medication.
Oh, and if you have a boyfriend, no oral sex as you can pass it on to become genital herpes.

You don't. The best you can do is avoid hot temperature foods(pizza cheese burns bad giving blisters) and gargle and swirl warm salted water in your mouth. Salt acts as a disinfectant. Daily. 3-4 days, you should note a difference.

I use Carmex for blisters on my lips and Listerine for the blisters in my mouth. Both seem to work very effectively.

Blisters??? Sounds like cold sores. Lots of readily-available over-the-counter lip balms to help prevent its spread, such as Lipactin.

Gentian Violet!
this is an antiseptic dye, that will fade in about 24-36 hours.
it is REALLY AFFORDABLE. you can BUY it for round 2 dollars at almost ANY drug store around the bandaids and rubbing alcohol. its comes in a small bottle thats about 1-2 ozs.
A ONE TIME APPLICATION IS USUALLY ALL THATS NEEDED.
ALSO GO TO THE DENTIST IF THIS RE-OCCURS, YOU MAY HAVE TOOTH DECAY / A CAVITY!!!
BE AWARE:
DRY THE AREA FIRST, SAY WITH A COTTON BALL, LET IT SOAK UP ALL THE EXCESS SLOBBER...USE A COTTON SWAB TO JUST DAB A BIT ON TO THE EFFECTED AREA. if you apply petroleum jelly to any other area around the infected, it will prevent any unwanted application of the dye to that area.
note this will work on herpes simplex, I would say better than ABREVA..which costs $15.00
but only if you dont mind the dye...hey, its better to see dye on your face than a sore!!! you cna just say you were bitting on a pen...and it broke! :)

There is no way to get rid of them but if you have more than one or two I would go to the doc and get this checked out to be sure you don't have a herpes virus of some kind.

it could be a stomatitis a mouth infection which will heal on its own, just keep a good oral hygiene and use soft-bristled toothbrush to avoid bleeding and take vitamin C to speed up the healing. however it could also be herpes simplex a viral infection that usually starts on the mouth and you might need antiviral medications for that which your doc will prescribe. see a doc now.
