WOW I think it sounds AWESOME for you to want to show her just how much you appreciate all she does for your son, grandchildren & you. I think it would be nice if you & her had some quality time alone like shopping, going to the beautiy shop to get hair & nails done. Then maybe out to lunch. At the end of your outting give her a card letting her know how you feel about her & all she does for your family. That would diffeniately let her know how much you appreciate all she does for your son, your grandchildren & you! If you'd like to include your son & grandchildren then you & your daughter in law do something special during the day and have your son & grandchildren meet you & your daughter in a nice restraunt for dinner. At the end of dinner then give her the nice card that lets her know she's very appreciated! Regardless of what you decide to do I'm sure it will mean alot to her just knowing you love her and appreciate her! I'm sure she must be very lucky & appreciates you as well!

I like the mother's ring idea, but I think the most important thing that you can do is to tell her how much everything she does is appreciated, and how much you value what she has done for your family. I know it may sound tacky, but the thing that feels the best is when someone honestly says how grateful and appreciative they are that you are there. Think about how great that would make her feel.

write her a letter saying all these things. This is the best thing you can do. You can't buy that! She will love hearing how good a job she thinks you are doing.

Wow... that is so nice to hear. You don't often hear about that.
How about a day at the spa?
A weekend away with her husband, while you watch the kids?
Even just a card expressing your gratitude to her.
