I think that this is a very hard question to answer. Some people say that you dont miss what you never had....which is true, but love is one of those things, I think, everyone should experience. Yeah it hurts when you loss love, but its so wonderful when you have it. And whose to say, the one that you fall in love with may be the one for you and you won't have to feel the pain of love lost.

It is not comparible, if you have never loved, then you do not know what it is like to lose love, and equally if you have loved and lost, how can you compare it never having loved?
People in both camps would answer the question differently

Better to have loved and lost. It would be pretty bad to never have experienced it at all. Everyone should fall in love at least once.

Absolutely. You experienced love and that is what is important. Now you know what it feels like. Special people come in and out of our lives and we get the privelage of sharing special moments with them. It is these experiences which make you who you are. Because of this relationship you will know what you want in the next one.
