No,,a CD doesn't use any magnetic storage .,,so it is Not affected by magnets
It's actually burned into a membrane/film ,,
If you've ever seen the paper rolls from an old "Player Piano",,
That's almost an example in a very general sense.
The CD READER senses the PHYSICAL TEXTURE of the CD by using Light.
Magnetics on the CD Burner/reader Might interefere with it's Physical Motion while trying to read/write.
But a magnet has NO effect on a CD.
Hard Drives,,Floppy Discs,Cassette Tapes ARE magnetic media storage,,
A Magnet will mess those up..

No, magnetics do not corrupt CDs. A cd is burned with a laser.
Magnets only affect cassette tapes, VHS tapes and any other device (such as a floppy disk) that uses magnetic systems to store, write and read the data.
Magnetic systems aren't used as much anymore. Other ways are safer and more efficient to store data. But yet a computer hard-drive could get damaged by magnets.
Hope that helps.

a CD is optical media(it uses a laser to read the cd)
not a magnetic media(using magnetic head reader)
a magnet will corupt a cd if you take the magnet and scratch the media surface.

From what I understand, No. The data is hard written onto the CD.
