Nobody can understand the mysteries of existence. Some may say so, but it is not possible for human minds to grasp. Quantum physics is just a theoretical way of looking at the physical nature of matter. It doesn't matter how intelligent or how educated you are. I know people with advanced degrees who believe in God, and others who don't
Nobody can prove God exists or doesn't exist. It is a matter of faith, or a lack of faith. Some atheists later believe in God, some religious people stop believing.
The human mind is, of course, free to speculate one way or the other. Until somebody can bring God and show us, or take us everywhere and show us God isn't anywhere, the quesion cannot be answered objectively.

How does anybody really "know" anything?
Well, ok, gravity seems to be a fairly consistent law...
I was raised Lutheran (which, for those that know religious history is kinda like "Catholic Lite").
Then I became fairly immersed in drugs and rock&roll.
It was fun while it lasted.
Then I sorta came to my senses; or at least became less self-destructive.
Then I just sorta "internalized" my beliefs, and just began enjoying life and all the sensual pleasures with some degree of moderation.
I'm no saint, by any means, but I never cheated or robbed a man. Heck, I got some standards....
I can see God in the flowers, the river, the sunny day.
Did I get off-topic? Sorry.
I don't know who or what God is.
I just enjoy life, and avoid defecating on other people for no reason.
That seems to work.

The real question is - how do theists know there *is* a God?
The answer, well understood by serious theologians such as the authorities at the Vatican, is that if you accept the idea of a God at all, it must be by faith alone. Not evidence. Not knowledge. Not facts. Just faith. Faith alone. Acceptance of a belief without knowledge of supporting evidence. If you are not willing to say "It's absurd but I will choose to believe it anyway", then you are not exercising faith.
.
That's one reason I despise the dumb fundies who try to push creationist mythology under the guise of "intelligent design". If they were people of real faith they would not squirm around trying to pretend that their beliefs are derived from science. If they were real people of faith they would accept that the facts have nothing to do with their faith. They would be honest and say openly: Yes, I know that the facts support the theory of evolution, but I choose to believe in creationism because I have faith. But they do not have the balls to stand on pure faith so they pretend to be something they are not.
"Atheist" just means "without gods". So if you make decisions without God you are then being an atheist. Bear that in mind when you are shopping and decide on Wheaties instead of cornflakes. You probably make secular decisions a lot.
"Atheist" also has the meaning in usage of "denying the existence of a god". Do you believe in the existence of Zeus, Thor, Wodin, Aphrodite, Augustus, Cybele, Baal and Osiris? No? Then you too are an atheist. How do you *know* there isn't a Zeus?

"How can you say our brains are even capable of comprehending God"
Comprehending a mythical thing is easy. Like a flying spaghetti monster. Look up Schrödinger's cat, it exist in death and life at the same time but only one when you observe it.
science is based on observation so the most difficult parts to understand are the ones we can't observe. At least in science when we can't observe something we can observe other things around it to get an idea of what it is or is doing or use theories to try to justify things and in time these theories can be proven or disproven. We have no such luxury with god. things that were once accreditted to god or the gods are now proven with science.
Why does god kill? why does he allow others to kill in his name? why in the bible does he kill more than satan? a lot more.

God has given us irrefutable proof he exists - Jesus Christ, the Word of God who became flesh. What human has been able to:
Silence a typhoon?
Walk on water?
Multiply a few loaves of bread and fishes in order to feed a multitude of 5,000?
Restore dead people back to life?
Give sight to people born blind?
Change water into wine?
Rise from the dead?
As the apostle John puts it, these miracles or signs prove beyond any reasonable doubt that God exists. These miracles show that Jesus had the power over life and death and the forces of nature. Only a God can do that.
And if all these miracles were just made up, Christianity would not be around today. For example, the story of Christ's resurrection cannot be silenced because there were more than 500 people who witnessed it.
Have a blessed and peaceful day

Who says every other animal isn't aware of death? I had a dog that was really sick, and before he died, he was well aware of what was happening to him. I think people who say that four-legged animals are not capable of higher thinking are wrong. If they had no notion of emotions, then why do my dogs always try to cheer me up when I'm upset?
As for the athiests, there is not enough proof that God exists, so therefore, the logical conclusion is there is no God. When someone can prove beyond a doubt that God exists, then they might change their minds. But nobody can. And the only one who will won't.

I DO understand quantum physics, as a matter of fact. So apparently, according to you, I know all the secrets of the universe. And there's no god in there.

To atheists, if no God,where did we all come from?Where did the solar systems the world as we know it and beyond come from?Just because we can't see something does not mean it does not exist. The secrets of the Universe are not meant to be understood, we have been told to understand would cause us to go insane.(hence, the secrets would still be unknown)Just an excuse to not to have to get up and go to church.
I was brought up to live by faith. Faith in The God I believe exists has helped get me through many hard times, I will continue to live by it.....
My choice, as is others choice to believe or not....
(on a lighter note Ga zoo I believe in u!)

I don't KNOW that there is no God, but I do KNOW that the God of *traditional* theism does not exist. It is a self-contradictory and vacuous concept, like that of a square circle. How do you KNOW a square circle doesn't exist? Same question.
I think there is a reality appropriately termed "God," but I don't think it is anything much like the God of the traditional theistic religions. It is exactly through quantum mechanics, systems theory, and process philosophy that I acquired my conception of God -- one which makes existential sense to me, which matches the data of experience, and which supports rather than undermines genuine scientific understanding of the cosmos.

One cannot rule out the possibility of there being a god. We can't rule out the possibility because there are literally endless possibilities.
Neither an atheist nor a religious person can definitively say that there is or isn't a god. We cannot know for sure because there are infinite possibilities where god can and cannot exist simultaneously.
