Going through all the vowels eh-ee-ah-oh-oo with proper lip and tongue placement will help A LOT. If you start on one note, say middle C, and do all the vowels in a row then move up a full step, (assuming you're a girl, if you're not, modify pitches as need) go up high so that you're forced to use a strongly projected head voice and good tone. Then begin your descent.
