the first person to hear the name Yahweh was not Adam it was moses, no one knew the name of Yahweh until he reveled his name to moses at the burning bush because moses asked him who shall i say sent me and the voice sad tell them Yahweh the Elohim sent you not the lord thy god because there are gods many and there are lords many but only one Yahweh, so to even call him god or lord is blasphemy because there are over a hundred Greek gods and there is a hole house of lords in England so to call him one is to put him on there level which you can't so his name is Yahweh and his title is Elohim, and as for Islam you must understand that the entire religion of Islam was made up by a man who had a inferiority complex with women

Yahweh is one of the translations of God's name in the Bible, supposedly the more accurate one, but I don't know. However, when the Koran was written no name for God was included, just the vague expression "god." So that's all they go by. The more educated among them may know what's in the Bible, but they still hold to their own teachings.
Similarly, God's name is in the original Bible manuscripts, plus some older translations and in many foreign languages. But, out of superstition over the third commandment--not to take God's name in vain, and in imitation of the Jews, it was removed. Since the original pronunciation was lost we now have the controversy over the correct pronunciation and spelling.

Why should they? "Yahweh" is not a name, it comes from the Hebrew "I am". The whole thing springs up from Moses asking God what is name is so he can tell Pharoah. God replies "I am", meaning he has no name. The Egyptians had a God who had no name, in order for the Jewish God to be above that god, God couldn't not have a name either.

If "Yahweh" is the only God, why would he need a name anyway?

Because Allah is Arabic. The literal translation is "The God". In English, we refer to God, with a capital G. The word god, with a small g, indicates a deity of some kind.

God in Spanish is Dios. In German, I believe that it is Gott. In Arabic, it is Allah. That is what Christian Arabs call God.
