My ex acts weird when I'm around. He won't look me in the eyes or talk to me. He sad he still loved me after we broke up. But then a few days later I asked him why he didn't want to be with me anymore and he said because we just weren't meant to be and that he didn't like how I talked about the furture in our relationship. But just a week before we broke up he was asking me if I would take his last name since I had once told him if I ever got married I'd want to keep mine. We have a few mutual friends and whenever were all hanging out he still won't talk or look at me. He's always been sort of strange and keeps his emotions bottled up. We broke up because he hadn't called me for a week and I got upset, and he said half of him wanted us and half wanted to be friends, so we just broke up. But now he's not even being my friend. What's his deal? How can I find out if he still loves me without sounding like I'm trying to get him back?

He's complicated and isn't very open. I'm just trying to be his friend but it makes me wonder sometimes the way he acts around me. He tends to avoid talking about things that have meaning or are important and isn't very openly emotional. He said he loved me and always wanted to be with me and changed his mind in about a week after having been on vacation. I know he didn't meet another girl. He was with his family. He never has told me that he dosn't love me.

And I don't want everyone saying time to move on because that's nto an option at this point and time. I'm not trying to be with him but I'm not ready to see other people.

If you were dating and then you broke up, why should he want to be with you? Very few guys can deal with 'being a friend' after a break up anyway. And some guys have no idea what being a friend with a girl is about anyway. I say let him go his own way and hang out with whoever he wants to.

If he is missing you, then it's up to him to talk to you, or you could just ask him. If he says (like you write above) that you're just not meant to be together, then I'd say that's your answer - he's just not that into you. Move on.

Sweetheart, leave that guy right where he is and move on. If he wants you, let him come back to you and then you can negotiate your own terms. This is of course if you want him back. On the other hand if you don't them just leave him be. whenever he is ready he will come out of his cave and you two can be friends. In the meantime you are young please go enjoy your life.

I'm sorry but from what you said it appears that he does not. Time will tell though. Just be patient but don't waste too much time worrying about this.
