I have some images of people, mostly my friends that I want to turn into 3D models for use in modelling suites (Blender, 3ds Max, etc.). Is there any software available that can do this? I would prefer it be completely free, but a free 30-day trial is fine.

try using the images as textures in 3D Studio Max. That should resolve your problem... although you will have to make a 3d man model, on which you use these textures.

i full agree with him facegen is a very great program for making heads. it takes all the stress of modeling it right off the bat, the problem is that you can only do real people. so if you want some caricatures or unique heads like aliens or mutants or something your at a loss
