their is more proof of evolution than there is god and his beliefs.

Some people still believe in God because they need faith. Faith in the higher power. The power of the all seeing all knowing. To help keep them in line. To give them hope of more then just dieing when their time comes. To give them the push in the right direction. Just in case there is a hell...

If they dont believe in God there is nothing left but the black hole in the ground or the Incinerator. Which would you prefer, better to believe in the Hearafter than nothing at all. I dont think they are stupid. When youre time is up you will know whether you believe or not, you will probably be petrified with fear not knowing if there is a Heaven and everybody Happy with there Relations and the Angels and God and all that. You will probably have to repent for all youre Sins to the Clergyman at youre Bedside just before you Die. And remember dear friend God loves you, go in Peace my Child.

I think there are two main reasons
-Saying god did it keeps you from having to go through the work to figure it out or understand it.
-They are afraid to die and this way they don't really have to.
Neither one has much to do with intelligence which is why there is only a weak tie. There is a much stronger tie to education which makes sense since that takes work and understanding so you are part of the way there.

no, not stupid, just lazy. it's so much easier to let someone else give you all the answers. thinking is hard work.
