All baby carrots are is bits and peices or smaller carrots that have been tumbled in some sort of machine to give them a pleasing, rindless shape...

That is a good question. The reason is because in the industry that has been an issue. There are Belgium style carrots which are babies naturally like you asked about BUT the majority of "baby carrots" are cut from long regular carrots. You can tell the difference by noting the manufactured ones look way to perfect in length ( they are cut exactly 2 or 3 " long and don't have any of their tops green or have some stem material showing at the top.
Natural baby carrots will be somewhat variable in size and shape and have actual tops on most of them.

baby carrots arnt normal carrots cut up... its just carrots that have been harvest b4 they are fully grown!
