My friends and I were wondering, one says there is me and my other friend says there isn't. Just curious...

The term String bean is a term from the past but the actual bean is still the typical GREEN BEAN you are probably familiar with. As time has passed newer varieties have reduced the string (along the length of the bean) so nowadays you don't even notice a chewy string. the sting is there but not noticeable to the texture.
they are all GREEN BEANS.

Essentially, no difference.

String beans are french style green beans.

Usually when one says string beans the mean french cut green beans when they say green beans they mean waxed canned green beans

Both are shaped the same and have simular flavors. String beans have a "string" that runs the length of the pod and is removed when you "snap" the beans during preparation. Green beans are stringless.
