Freedom of speech, you can say what you want! Will they do it? I doubt it. What is the problem? Goiter? Paint Iodine tincture over a significant part of your skin. If you can't see a stain 10 hours later, do it again. Your body can absorb the iodine through the skin. Are you sure it is the thyroid that is swollen, and not lymph nodes for example. If it is that, you might try gargling with a dilute hydrogen peroxide mixture. (Or hot salt water) Or do hot and cold treatment to your neck.-- get a small towel hot and put it around your neck for a minute or so, then a cold washcloth for a few seconds. repeat 4 - 6 times. That will increase circulation to the neck.

No they will not remove it just because you want it removed. Anyway once you have your thyroid removed a whole set of new problems will come. It takes a while to get the thyroid levels balanced! My mother had hers taken out and she had major problems afterward for about a year or so. Massive muscle pain almost not being able to walk, gained about 40+ lbs in a short period of time, concentration issues. The thyroid controls alot and removing it shouldn't be adviced unless it is cancerous. Maybe you should go to another doctor and get a second opinion. Good Luck!

Are you thyroid medication. If not, it sounds like you should be. Many times the thyroid meds will shrink the thyroid gland. Sounds like your doctor isn't doing enough for you. You should be having morning only testing of TSH, Free T4, Free T3, and a thyroid antibody test.
No, you can't demand them to remove it, but you can demand further testing or blood an perhaps an ultrasound.
Below are some thyroid links

Demand?? No. You can't demand they remove it. If they said nothing was wrong with it, then there's nothing wrong with it. If your throat/neck is really swollen and hard and you can't swallow, then yes....go to the ER and have them look at it.
No doctor is going to remove your thyroid when there is no reason to. No doctor.

No you cannot demand they remove it but since something else is going on you need to go to ER to find out what is causing your hard time swallowing and your breathing difficulties. Call a friend to drive you to ER right away and get this checked out immediately.

No, you can't demand surgery like that. If your doctor is checking, just be patient. Sometimes it takes some time to find the exact thing to treat.
