go ahead and get married at the court, then tell her they should save up for the "big" wedding at the church in the future.

In order to get married in court, they need a marriage license first, both need to come in to court, fill it out the marriage license & pay the fee. They may be able to get married that same day depending on if there is a judge available. Tell her to go to the court house with her boyfriend/fiance. She can shop for a nice dress before the ceremony, it's better to get the dress before they show up in court.

I assume the your state works similar to mine...here you have to get a marriage license from the courthouse which takes a 24 hour wait period. Other states require blood test. My suggestion is to go to the website for your county courthouse and see what is required. Once they are married offically then where they have their church wedding or when is really up to them because legally they are already married. Good luck to your friend!

Once she's married, court or church, she's married. There's no such thing as a do over for weddings. What's the point?
