I want to be a police woman and I have a tattoo above my ankle. My question is would this violate the dress code? I have other tattoos but they are covered by clothes.

There are a few rules regarding dress code but having an ankle tattoo shouldn't be a problem. As all of the female officers I know wear trousers and boots, it would be covered up anyway. I think there would be more of an issue with you walking round with your trouser leg rolled up and your tattoo showing than actually having the tattoo in the first place!

I badly sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. I was in a hurry going down the stairs, lost my balance and landed on a bad side of my left foot, causing my left ankle to be stretched going on the inside. The first 48 hours were excruciating and the pain was un-believable. I've never had a serious ankle injury before.

So I immediately treated it using the RICE method. The following day, the bruising and swelling were so horrible. I found out that I got a second degree sprain and immediately panicked after that. I had a football game on that week and it been looking forward to it because I've been training for rt. I had teammates that had similar injuries and it took them months to fully recover, some of them stopped playing altogether. So I kinda had a short-term depression because I can't imagine myself not being able to run and play sports anymore.

Because I was so desperate to recover again, I contacted a lot of people that I know who do sports and asked them if they had similar injuries. One friend of mine, from the boy's football team in my university, told me about H.E.M. Ankle Rehab. I got a copy 4 days after I got injured. I immediately read and followed what was instructed and felt improvement on the first day. I was able to walk a bit, but I was in pain.

A couple of days after that, the swelling and bruising were subsid-ing significantly and on the fourth day, I was walking comfortably again. Although I've had felt a bit of stiffness, I continued doing what was instructed. My sister was surprised that I have recovered this fast. I told her about this book and was shocked on how effective the procedures were. I'm just so happy that this book was shared to me and how effective it is.

Heal your ankle fully & fast?

Officers are allowed to have tattoos anywhere that can be covered up by clothing. We have a couple of officers that are stuck wearing long sleeve shirts all summer because of forearm tattoos. I would stay away from getting any neck or hand tattoos.
The ankle tattoo won't show under socks and pants so don't worry about it.

One of my first partners was 78% covered by tattoos. With a long sleeve shirt on, he was "clean." The only negative with a tattoo on your body, is if you are ever to work undercover, it could be used as a distinquishing mark (i.e the bad guys would recognize you). Ankle tattoo...not a problem.

Tattoos are a problem for police officers if they show because it will limit what assignment you can have and will make to easy for you to be identified by people who have seen you before. Thats true of some other jobs too. I knew a girl who has a Bachelor's Degree in business management but she had tatts that started at her neck to her ankles and it was impossible to cover all of them by clothes. She got lots of job interviews but no real good job offers simply because she projects an image as a freak. Good for being a freak but not being someone who others will trust you with their money and future. She is a manager at a fast food restaurant now. Told me that it cost very little to have the tatts put on but would cost over 50K to get all of them off. You might have a problem with your tatts.

No it wouldnt be a problem, years ago some forces had specific rules against tattos but modern forces do not we had one officer with tattoos on both hands and over his body.If you had them on face and neck I dont think you would get further than first interview

NO it won't violate the dress code. Some departments are beginning to have rules on making officers wear long sleeves year round when their arms are covered with tats. Apparently it scares some of the citizens and they don' believe they are cops.
So keep 'em under cover and you should be alright.

Tats should not be a problem. I've seen many police officers with them all over. On the face might be a problem. Elsewhere not to worry.

Since it should be easily covered just by wearing the standard issue uniform pants it should not be a problem.

I think it would be fine!! Many women police officers nowadays wear trousers as opposed to skirts like in the old days!
