Don't worry about paying for them, you can just as good (or even better) results just doing them yourself.

I suggest www.knottyboy.com

They are by far the best loc company out there, I'm 17 and have had my dreads for about 1 1/2 years, and I've only used Knotty products.

They have all-in-one kits, that are seriously perfect, it sounds like I'm trying to put them on shout, but they are just seriously amazing.

On the site they also give you step by step instructions to how to dread your hair, and aftercare.

All you need is a few friends, a dread comb, and some knotty wax, and you'll be set.

They also sell special dread shampoo, and tightening gel, and the non-itch coolant.

Contrary to belief, dreads are not gross, they're rad, and the only way they become gross is if you don't take care of them.

you have to keep them clean just like normal hair.

Best of luck-once you get them, you'll be so happy that you did

It's 94 degrees here in Fresno, CA at 4:10pm & yes, that is very hot for April. The temp here in Fresno is usually in the mid-seventies this time of year, but occasionally drifts into the low eighties.

Sorry molly but...no don't do that, please don't. If you want fashion dreds (meaning they're still dreads but with a slightly neater appearance)then get some friends, some beeswax and start twisting your hair. However, i'm african american, i have no clue what you are or what your hair is like. I don't have but they're popular where i live so i'm used to helping my friends keep up theirs. dreads are so simple....a lil crazy looking if you ask me...but simple

All you need is a couple friends and you can do em yourself! No need to pay(other than for the materials you need.)

It really isnt hard at all, just kinda time consuming.

ummm you dont buy dreadlocks you just dont brush or comb or even wash your hair for a really long time. the longer you go with out washing the thicker they will get. but be careful once you get them you have no choice but to cut them if you dont like them. you cant comb them out.
