"The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs - heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share in His glory. I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us." (Romans 8:16-18)

"But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." (2 Corinthians 12:9-10 NIV)

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His Name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in The House of The Lord for ever." (Psalm 23:1-6 KJV)

"Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30)

And God created Man in his image. Your body is a temple unto God. You were created in God's image and God gave you a body that is his temple. You should not feel bad about how you look. You look like God. Now the fashion industry has attempted to change what is though of as beautiful. Did you know that Cleoprata (thought to be the most beautiful woman in the world) was said to weigh 300 pounds! It wasn't until Twiggy (1960s) that ultra skinny was popular. Why do you think you are not beautiful? I am assuming that you are a woman since many more women have this self esteem image than men. Look at the paintings of the great masters. The women are robust and beautiful! Just remember you are God's creation and mankind is God's greatest achievement here on earth! Don't try to make yourself like Miss America. Many are solely the result of plastic surgery! There was an old Twilight Zone (from the 1960s) about a girl that had low self esteem and wanted to be made beautiful. The show was about her surgery. No faces were shown until the last few minutes when they unwrapped her bandages. The doctors and nurses were agasted at how ugly she was, but then they showed her face - she looked just like an everyday person. It was the doctors and nurses that were terribly ugly! Another Twilight Zone show was about a girl that successfully completed the surgery and she "looked just like everyone else." No difference. I hope that helps.

Matt 24:6 Let not your heart be troubled.

Rom 8:28 God causes all things to work for good for those who love him.

I hope that helps.

I'm afraid that I cannot offer specific Biblical verses, but I can remind you something that may help...God loves you. This probably doesn't mean nearly as much, but I love you too.

I truly believe that we all deserve to be happy. The way I see it though, we are much more likely to find true Happiness through introspection and the cultivation of healthy interpersonal relationships than in the pages a book, even one as divinely inspirational as the Bible.

Jesus Christ stressed the individual worth of each of his disciples by saying: “Five sparrows sell for two coins of small value, do they not? Yet not one of them goes forgotten before God. But even the hairs of your heads are all numbered. Have no fear; you are worth more than many sparrows.” (Luke 12:6, 7) We are of such worth to God that he takes note of even the minutest detail about us. He knows things about us that we do not know ourselves because he deeply cares about each of us. Read also 1 Peter 5:7. Recognizing the personal interest God has in you and understand your limitations will helped you to improve your feelings of self-worth. Negative thinking leads to low self esteem so when you have these thoughts, go to God in prayer and pour out your heart to him and according to 1 John 5:14 he will hear your pray. Depression or low self esteem will not go away all at once, its something you have to work on and work with. There is hope for people who have low self esteem. The Bible speaks of a time in the near future when God “will wipe out every tear from our eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:3, 4) God’s Kingdom will then bring about the complete physical and mental healing of all its earthly subjects.—Psalm 37:10, 11, 29.

Not only will physical pain be removed but painful distress and affliction of the heart will disappear too. Take it one day or one moment at at time

Psalms 9: 9 And Jehovah will become a secure height for anyone crushed. A secure height in times of distress 10 And those knowing your name will trust in you. For you will certainly not leave those looking for you O Jehovah. Psalm 51: 17 The sacrifices to God are a broken spirit. A heart broken and crushed. O God. You will not despise.

YES! For years I stuggled with this, plus suicidal thoughts, and depression. Then I read the book of Philipians, in the Bible. It talks alot about training your thought life to dwell on things that we can be thankful for, things that are good, pure, praiseworthy...and to rejoice in the Lord always, no matter what the situation. When you begin to follow Christ with all your heart, and do what ever He asks of you, He will use you to touch the lives of many hurting people, then your heart will be so full of His love, you will experience a joy beyond this world!

If no one existed in all of creation - Jesus would have still come just for you.
In the Bible, to many people's surprise, Jesus did not choose the term Child of God, because, he pointed out we are all children of God. Jesus chose the self-name Son of Man because he came for each and everyone of God's children - for you and for I.
There is a trick which satan like to use at such times - it is for you to look at you - what you do/think/look like/know/ etc. This is what Eve did in the garden - look at herself. Jesus came to refocus our attention again.
One helpful method is to ask an optomitrist for 1 lense. Carry it in a pocket or a purse. When you start feeling this way - rub it as a reminder to refocus beyond your self to His self.
It is all about Him, Ash, all about Him.
Ps. 121 is a good memory psalm: I look to the Mountains (From the hebrew meaning, majestic mighty one) from whence cometh my help - not my doing, not my thinking, not anyone elses' putdowns...my help comes from the Lord of Heaven and Earth.
Go for it kid. You got it.
