It's a little-known fact that cats also purr if they are in pain or distress. Are you sure that there's nothing physically wrong with him?

Purring is a good thing. Although nobody really knows how the cat purrs, it is a sign of being happy and content. Kittens purr when the nurse on their mother. I dont think the kind of cat makes a difference. You certainly must be doing something right. Sounds like a very HAPPY cat.

Hi. My female cat did the same thing. I erroneously thought she was very happy, but was sad 2 learn that she was in dental pain & that she was trying to hide from her own bad breath. After her extractions, she felt much better. Now she purrs bc she's happy; she purrs bc she's free... It's hoped this helps.

He must be a very happy kitty.
One of ours is a purrer. Sometimes if I'm in bed he will be walking into the room and he is just purring non stop. It's so cute cos you can hear him getting closer to the bed as his purr gets louder!!

I understand Siamese cats tend to be vocal. And young cats especially tend to purr a lot.

Some cats are just naturally 'purrers', and I think yours is one of them.

cats purr because they are very content. most cats purr when someone pets them. your cat is probably just happy and content and comfortable around you.

It sounds like your cat is very content, which means that you are a very good servant (people can own dogs but merely serve cats).

My brother has a cat like that and he named him Evinrude after the outboard motors which this cat sounds so much like.

That is totally cool.Surely you know that when a cat is purring it is very content!Your cat is very happy with you and ,this is all very normal behavior. When a cat is purring it is releasing a hormone, that helps him to relieve stress. I wouldn't be complaining, or even be concerned, your kitty cat willy wuves you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And, that's all I have to sat about that. Meowwwwwww...
