my dobe loves cuddles but only when he wants them! he will come and put his head on my shoulder and kind of half wrap it round my neck! then he wants to cuddle! if i give him one when i want one he will cuddle for like 5 seconds then whip his head round and clonk me one!!!!! lol bless em!!
edit about 2 hrs later! my dobe has just pushed his head under my arm! he wants a cuddle! now 2 mins later he has pi$$ed off to the couch to lie down! typical bloke! gets what he wants then fooks off!! lol i still love him tho!

Who doesn't enjoy a cuddle?
A dog is a sentient being and loves attention. If the correct amount of leadership /dominance is shown the dog can only see this as reward.

When any of our dogs want a cuddle they'll either lean into your legs (so that you can bend down and put your arms round them) or they'll jump up and put their paws on your shoulders - then you can hug them as you would a human. Or they will just sit on your lap! My dogs (lurchers) love cuddles. They'd get depressed if they didn't have physical human contact.

My dogs genuinely enjoy a cuddle. They'll rest their head on my shoulder and snuggle in for a proper cuddle. My Staffie is the worst, and if I don't cuddle her enough she starts pawing at my arm!

Hm, well I never thought of my cuddles as being anything like mounting. I hope my dog liked it and wasn't just sucking up to me.

No way, one of my dogs loves snuggles. The other isn't so keen on it. He loves fetch instead. So I do lots of fetch with the worker bee and tons of cuddles with the love muffin.
Some really do.

I believe some dogs like it. My labrador does not though. He likes to sit or lay next to me with no more contact then a pat.
