Is it true the more money you pay for a haircut, the better it looks? I have straight blonde hair, and I was told I could get layers that looked just as good at the $6 salon than my $100 salon. What do you think?

I have extremely thick, naturally wavy hair, and I will not even consider letting some $6 stylist get near it with the shears any more. Have done it in the past and gone home with one side a good 2 inches shorter than the other. On the flip side, I've had $70 cuts and they were great, but not to die for. My current stylist charges me $25-30 and she's the best I've ever used. I'll actually let her do what she wants to, because it is ALWAYS a good cut. You just have to look around until you find the right stylist, sometimes they're tucked away in a strip mall salon.

Its not always the price that means quality but usually if the hairdresser is popular that means people like the work they perform. And if they are popular all the BIG hair salons want them. Big salons cost lots of money and so you are more likly to get a better hairdresser at an expensive salon. Not always but most of the time. Also at cheap places, the hairdressers that work there are usually just getting out of beauty school and they work there for training.

I have not heard of $6 haircuts...nor $100 dollar ones for everyday people. All salons usually charge $10 to $12 dollars for just a regular haircut in an average town. Once you find someone that you really like the way they cut...At $10 it's good.

No,it seems like every time I go to an up scale salon and pay $100.00 or more they always destroy my hair. I had long hair and it was ruined from the guy hacking at my hair with a razor,I had to cut my hair up to my neck with short layers to make my hair look like hair again.
