They have the right to their beliefs, weird as they are; and if I recant all the bad things I've said about them, will that help to improve the general atmosphere around here?

Oh, and by the way, did Jesus really walk on water, or was that just a trick? It sure impressed Peter! But then, he was impressed by most anything.

And what was the point of casting 14 devils into a herd of innocent swine?

Sure you can. That is what they say the "book" says. I don't know about your atmosphere.
I walk on water all the time - on the road, parking lot(when it is raining) so it also walks on me. It is a metaphor. There is another meaning behind "walking on water"

I guess he didn't like pork or bacon(without a spice)

Notice too, in those days, evil spirits caused illness, leprosy (any skin ailment was called leprosy)
Later we learn that it is germs and a good hand washing will get rid of 99% of them. Oooo, the church did not want to hear that (or the fact that the earth was round not flat)

You're welcome to recant the mean things you've said, but what's the point in doing that and then insulting more in the same post.. I'm not a Christian, but why don't you want to leave people to their beliefs - they may seem stupid to you - your beliefs may seem stupid to others - try to be a little open minded at least! And don't ridicule integral aspects of a faith (Jesus walking on water, or the 14 devils) As I said I'm not Christian, but prejudice does upset me - and though a few of my friends have been shocked to hear it from me, prejudice against Christianity is just as bad as a common Christian prejudice against Atheism.

On behalf of all Church Ladies, I thank you and accept your apology. :o).

The gospels are written in a style that seems to be reporting actual events. It says he walked on water. Is this miracle particularly surprising to you?

As for the pigs (I thought there were more than 14 devils, but it doesn't say in Matthew -- probably in Luke) they were unclean animals. Jews shouldn't be raising pigs in the first place. Their presence was like an opportunity for the demons.

Yes you can certainly repent from your wrongs and refrain from nonsense would aid in discovery. Jesus really did walk on water and I was not aware that Peter was so impressionable. They asked to be cast into the swine.

Yes you can apologize.

Yes Jesus walked on water, it wasn't frozen, and Peter believed and walked with Him.

The demons were NAMED "Legion" meaning "The Many" in some languages and 1000 in others.
Where you got 14? I don't know.

I'm pretty sure. I've apologized for every "f*ck god" that's ever slipped out. If he does exist, it's rude to say that to a person/diety/thing anyway.
