Congratulations. Best thing I ever did - I've never looked back, despite all the criticism and persecution from ignorant people.

I was baptised a little over two years ago. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to talk to me. It's been the best decision I've ever made, and I'm a better person because of it. Understand, however, that the path you are considering is not always easy. As you can see right now, Satan will seek to confuse you and weigh your heart down with worry. If you prayerfully study your scriptures, speak with the misionaries about your concerns, and approach Heavenly Father with a willing heart to follow his guidance, the Holy Spirit will guide you on how to proceed. (Also be forwarned that anti-mormonism is a billion dollar a year industry. Seek the truth from God, not man.)

Good decision. As you can tell from some of the so called 'answers' already posted here, there are alot of people who don't understand what the LDS church is all about. Those people are like religionist terrorists. They are raised to believe that something good is really bad.

Do as the your Heavenly Father has told you and get baptized. God loves you and so does Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost.

If that is what you believe, then that is great, and you should do it! I have studied hundreds of religions and the Mormon faith was what made logical sense to me. However, that wasn't enough. I therefore asked God, and in no unclear way I was told it was right. That goodness for prayer, because it is always nice to have that second witness or guarantee. Good luck with whatever you decide. It is most important that you are happy.

I liked farfromfl advice. One thing I would like to add is that women are not considered 2nd class (as stated by someone else). I have never felt this way, it is a total misunderstanding! We are equal in the Lords sight.
I have a testimony of my church and I hope you gain one too!

Er, that wasn't a question :)

But if you're looking for advice on whether or not to join the Church, I'd say pray long and hard, and go with whatever God and your heart tell you to do. Good luck to ya!

I wouldn't encourage this and would do what I could to stop it. Read your Bible and see what God would have you to do. Read the Doctrin and Covenants alongside and see if you can reconcile the two books. The two don't reconcile and the prophecies in the second on don't line up to Deuteronomy in the first!
Joseph Smith has many prophecies in there that didn't come to pass and he said God told him. That makes him a false prophet whom Deuteronomy commands us to have nothing to do with.

I hope you are sure about your choice, but please make sure to investigate ALL of you options.

I am a Bahai and have LDS or mormon relatives, make sure to take your time and truely investigate the truth .

In my faith we believe we must investigate all religions for our selves and not just take someone elses word for it,
if we didn't then its the same thing as doing nothing at all.

how can you be totally prepared to meet god in heaven if you didn't read All that he has to offer us?

God bless.

Meg

This is a prayer for Spiritual Growth.

Create in me a pure heart, O my God, and renew a tranquil conscience within me, O my Hope! Through the spirit of power confirm Thou me in Thy Cause, O my Best-Beloved, and by the light of Thy glory reveal unto me Thy path, O Thou the Goal of my desire! Through the power of Thy transcendent might lift me up unto the heaven of Thy holiness, O Source of my being, and by the breezes of Thine eternity gladden me, O Thou Who art my God! Let Thine everlasting melodies breathe tranquility on me, O my Companion, and let the riches of Thine ancient countenance deliver me from all except Thee, O my Master, and let the tidings of the revelation of Thine incorruptible Essence bring me joy, O Thou Who art the most manifest of the manifest and the most hidden of the hidden! -Baha'u'llah

And you look to these boards for advice?

Try what the elders tell you, pray about it. Ask G-d to help you make the decision. Go to services, check it out -- but don't turn to the ppeople here, some of whom seem to get their jollies by attacking anyone who does not beleive what they do.

Good for you. Very good decision.

By the way, this is not a question... and please don't put this on Y!A! You will be (and obviously have been) slandered for our beliefs.
