This is a pretty broad question, but I'll try to explain. His commandments order us to do several things, and we are also told that he is perfect. Obviously he's instilled in us a desire to be perfect, however to be like him is to break the commandments that he made- because he has killed. This means that he himself doesn't follow the same morals that he's made us to. Also, why would he create such a vicious circle? He made us very able to be evil and sin, and then sent his own son- a concept which he created, and killed him to 'save' us from what he created. It's like me creating a robot, wanting it to be the best servant possible, but purposely giving it the ability to choose not to obey me. And then punishing it (sending to hell) when it actively makes that choice. Bottom line- if he wants us to love him, why did he give us the choice not to love him, and then why does he punish us for making that choice? Does it not seem like a pointless circle of concepts?

In response to the first answer- no, we didn't, because he created US, and he GAVE us the choice to be good or evil. So if he loves us, why did he gives us that choice?

You have to stand back and look at it all though. He made free will, and HE decided that in order to appreciate joy, we had to see sadness. He didn't have to make it that way, but he did.

because he/she/it loves us.. why wouldnt god give us a choice? i mean if we didnt have bad how can we identify what is good?
and if bad things didnt happen how could we learn and gain experience?

yes bad things happen because we make them... and that is fine. everyone makes bad choices... we need to learn from it.

if we never had any problems we would be a bunch of ignorant ill-experienced people...

Satan gave us the knowledge of evil. In the garden of Eden, the then perfect Adam and Eve ate of the fruit pf the tree of Good and Evil..thus they began the line of sin down through the centuries.
We try to analyze everything God does and says with a sinful human mind. The bible shows God trying to stop sin so many times dead in its tracks..so that we would not get to this point in history..however sin always returned..because He did not eliminate all humans etc..no matter how faithful Noah etc was..there was still sin in them..hence sin returned after the flood.
So many times God tried to eradicate it..humans are calling that God being a murderer.....
Sin is what the problem is....and before long He will eliminate it forever...when Jesus returns.
We make choices, but God hopes we will make the right one..choose Him..but most do not.

Maybe this will help. If God created a mortal, He would sustain the mortal indefinitely and in perfect condition. But God could not create a mortal of substance unlike Himself. This may not be exact, but without the Word was not anything made that was made. We all must dig to the bottom of this statement to begin to make some sense of this life and time, otherwise confusion reigns.

God didn't create pain and suffering, it is the absence of His healing and love. Likewise, God didn't create dark, the darkness is merely the absence of light.
We have a choice, but because of our sinful, corrupt natures we WILL not accept God's way out on our own. God has chosen a specific group of people that would be His own, and then the Holy Spirit of God convicts those people of their sin and shows them their complete hopelessness before the holiness of God. Without the conviction of the Holy Spirit, we will never humble ourselves to beg God for His mercy. So He does give us the choice; the problem lies with us, not God. If you are truly feeling that God is wrong, you need to realize that God is so far above our minds that it is amazing that we can understand anything about Him. I hope that you are being drawn by the Spirit, because without His leading, we are all doomed to make the choice to reject God's mercy.

You must ultimately put this back to God not Adam or Eve. They made their choices for their own reasons. Eve was deceived into thinking this was a test to make her wise and like God. Adam was a test to see how much he loved Eve more than God and God's word even thought it meant death to go against it.
The same was exactly true for Jesus Christ, he choose death so that his followers could be saved?
God did not need us otherwise, because the angels did worship God perfectly. God wanted and needed to be a father, a son, a provider, a savior, a healer, a friend, and so much more, but he could not do all of this without mankind falling away and there being this choice to choose the low road opposite of what Satan did, and mankind's free will did all of that because unlike the angels men could choose not to follow God. All the people saved do realize nothing they could do deserves the grace bestowed upon them. If a man will tell you otherwise he does not know the God of the Bible.
Many make-believes assume God loves them because God needs them. These are people that become the enemies of God.
Matthew 23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

I am a born again Christian and I will focus on the question of free will. I believe that there is more to us than just physics. If the behaviorists are right then the question stops here. If there is a spirit beyond physics then it is possible that there is something about us that cannot be duplicated by physics.

Blame that on Adam and Eve. It was not just Eve, because Adam listened to the whole thing between Eve and the Serpent. Do not blame Just Eve. Adam was able to stop Eve and not ruin everything we could have had. Eternal life, a beautiful paradise and so much more. It was the fall of pure good and the start of SIN. They are the cause of women's child birth pains.

"I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing: with pain you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband and he will rule over you." It goes on to say that man has to do the same for his wife, so any husbands out there, do not get any ideas.

Ah a medley of my old Atheist battle cries. Let's see if I might be able to help. (As for pain and suffering),. Pain is there to alert you to a need for correction. It is your alarm system. Emotional pain works the same way. As far as the (GOD has killed debate) Picture yourself as a cop standing in front of a kidnapping suspect holding a hostage at gunpoint. They are identical twin boys. If you willingly shoot the suspect you have had to do what you are mandated by the state to do. If you willingly shoot the victom you have just commited murder and can be convicted of it. They are identical twins remember? One is lawful. The other is not. (As far as the robot deal). If you do not decide to follow GOD on GOD's terms then you get this life to do with as you wish. It's a consolation prize of sorts. As far as (why people go to Hell) I do not have the slightest clue why the punishment is so harsh. I do know that our sociaty has done everything it can to stick its socal fingers in it's ears and say "la la la la la" hoping Hell will go away. I don't think it went anywere.

We are created in His image.
This must include feelings pain, anger, love and joy, etc.
He gave us free will, to choose to love Him.
He did not make us robots, or demands our love.
Love, to be love, must be given.

Free will was also the choice before Adam and Eve,
To eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Since then, we have had sin as a fact in our lives.
This is doing things that separates us from God and others.
We actively decide to either do good, or evil.
He did not decide to give this choice to us, they did.

The consequences of sin is the death of our relationship.
Or at least damage, if the person offended forgives us.
The choice to love or to do harm is ours, just as it is His.
The act of forgiving someone is a choice as well.
Forgiveness requires repentance.
Our will to change and to express sorrow from the heart.

Christ died to take the penalty of our sins before God.
Through Him alone are we forgiven.
Our relationship is then restored with God.
To be forgiven, we must repent and ask the one offended.
Those who accept what Christ did, they are forgiven.
It is an act of our will, to do His will.

God does not leave it at this.
He gives us His Spirit to help us to do His will.
His will is that we love Him and other people.
The Spirit helps us to do the good, and to avoid evil.

We still have free will.
We still will make mistakes.
We will not be perfect in this life, but He helps us.
He will forgive those who humble themselves to this fact.

I'm sorry you can't understand that God did not do this. He created us perfect in His image. It was the first sin which created for us the pain and suffering we now know. He loves His creation of man, even though we have been tainted by the one who rebelled against him. He provided our ancient ancestors with a path to Him. Then because of how far we had strayed from His path, He loving us so much, made it much easier for us to find Him thru the salvation that Jesus Christ offers us.
