All I know is that "Oliver Granger" is in honor of an early Mormon pioneer and is mentioned in Doctrine and Covenants 117:12 "I remember my servant Oliver Granger; behold, verily I say unto him that his name shall be had in sacred remembrance from generation to generation, forever and ever, saith the Lord."

A man who is "remembered", which can be interpreted in a number of way I guess. It's probably sufficient his name was forever recorded in scripture. I just know he was a financial dude in the early church.
