As far as removal, some GPs would do it, others will refer you to a dermatologist. There are several ways to remove a mole, they can freeze it, burn it, or as a last resort, cut it out. I've had several moles removed, by my GP, but this was over 20 years ago. All they did is freeze it. It hurts for about 10 seconds. The mole will swell up at first, then start shrinking....and eventually fall off in several days with little or no scaring. Probably the best person for this would be a dermatologist. As far as cost......that really depends.....you'd have to call up for some prices. Best of luck to you.

On cost it depends on what the doctor says. If the doctor feels that it could be something that needs removed, insurance will cover it. However, if the doctor feels it is just a cosmetic choice to be removed, usually insurance will not cover it.
On the scar issue, it i depends on how they remove it. I had one removed that they just cut off and there was almost no scar. This one also grew back though. If it is just a skin tag mole (which is what it sounds like) they usually do grow back.
Then, I had one removed on my knee that they used a punch to remove it, and the scar was almost five times the size of the mole itself. A punch is kind of like an epi-pen. They put a tube around the mole and punch a button on it. After that a razor like thing goes around it and cuts it out. Both of these I had done at my family doctor (general practitioner).

Skin moles happen to be ugly growths on the skin. These may get eliminated using surgical procedure, or even better by using numerous home made remedies or products.
Surgery is overpriced, being from around $100-$450 yet it might leave scarring. Home made remedies are actually affordable and also could get rid of unnattractive moles inside just a couple of days while not leaving scarring.
Home remedies may inlcude garlic, cumin seeds, or perhaps fresh pineapple juice used for a small period of time.

I agree with Spence. If it bothers you that much though I'm sure the Doctor will remove it for you. I would think carefully about it though as even if the scar is minimal, it would affect the growth of your eyebrow hair and could end up looking a whole lot worse. Have a word with your Doctor and see what he/she says, they are the best person to advise you about it.

Well if it bothers you to the point that you are insecure about it then get it removed but you know God gives you beauty marks and that is what makes you unique and beautiful. All you have to do is ask your doctor. My mom had a mole removed under her eye and it left a scar but you can't even see it.

I had a mole removed on my back about four years ago and the scar is rather large (it was on the NHS, I said it was painful and caught on my bra strap), but if it's just a little one it shouldn't be too bad, and you can always tell people the scar is from a shark incident?

I think it would depend on the type of mole.
Best to talk to your doctor - he is the professional that you know and hopefully trust. No disrespect to anyone on here, but how do you know who is talking as a qualified professional who is in active work and not struck off? The advice your doctor is totally free (except for the petrol to get to see him).
Good luck

I think you can only get it removed if it affects you psychologically or is potentially cancerous. Otherwise you would have to go private. A GP cannot do since they are not trained to do so!! They can refer you to a specialist though if they feel that you can get it on the NHS!
