GREAT QUESTION!
i've consulted several of my colleagues on this matter, and there is absolutely no medical evidence to indicate that cracking your knuckles will give you arthritis.
You see, when you crack your knuckles, you aren't actually cracking your knuckles. What happens is you are releasing air bubbles in your joints.
There IS medical evidence that cracking your knuckles actually relieves stress
I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU OUT

Since I crack my joints regularly I've done my homework, and so far the whole "cracking gives you arthritis" is false. When you crack you release gas build up between joints and the worst thing that can happen is a stretched ligament. Some cases have reported that there also a loss of grip strength..So unless you're considering a career in gymnastics, crack away!!

there's a big discussion about this. some people claim that it does in fact give you arthritis. others say that all you don when you crack your bones is pop air bubbles between the cartilage and the bone, i say its a bad habbit anyway, i dont do it, but i go with the "cracks air bubbles" thing.

yeah is does cracking you knuckles or any joints increase your chance of getting arthritis as when you 'crack' joints it pushes you joints that little further and wears the joint down gradually over time! eventually infalmmation on joint appears and arthritis appears!
hope this helps

I think it does damage the hands eventually, but I still do it anyway. Live too long without bad habits and you go mad is what I say.

craking your knuckles doesnt give you arthritis, just air trapped inside your knuckles that makes a popping sound.

No, it wont give u arthritis. Its only an urban legend. But experts say that if we do that, we may lose our grip as we grow older.
