In the last couple of years I have begun to lose my physical ability to write. Whenever I try to write, I have problems with my hand cramping around the utensil, or I can't get a firm grip around it, so my hand slips causing big stray marks on my papers. I would prefer to type everything because writing is literally becoming painful. I don't really think that it is carpel tunnel syndrome because I don't experience any of the customary pain symptoms while doing anything other than writing. If someone has any info about what this may be, please let me know. Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

It may be arthritic. Usually when the arthritis starts you have a hard time clutching things. It may also be a pinched nerve up in your shoulder. I had that. I couldn't pick up a dish towel. Not only was it too heavy but I couldn't get my fingers together to hold it. See a doc. It may be a pinched nerve. Don't wait too long. The one thing I was told was that if you wait too long then the nerve damage cannot be reversed. Go to a neurologist not a sports med or orthopedist. A neurologist fixes the problem and fixes the nerve. The others only fix the problem. They do nothing for the nerve. Good luck.
