anything supernatural in the Bible is fiction or misinterpretation of natural events. Primitive people can be forgiven for trying to explain things in a supernatural way but not people living in the 21st Century.

When Christ says that he was teaching in parables, does this give you a hint?
You don't have to believe in a literal Adam and Eve, or a literal Noah, to be a Christian. You have to believe, however, that there is value in the lessons of the Bible.
The historical lessons of the Bible have been never disproved. There is a lot of literal history in the Bible.

The part about Eve and her talking snake is literal.
Also the part about Jesus floating upward like a gentle balloon, that is literal.
Also the part about Joshua commanding the sun to stand still, that is literal; and that's now I know astronomy is false.

Curiosity? Interest in your fellow man? Insight into human nature? There's lots of good reasons to engage in religious and philosophical discourse.

I believe the bible is a little of both... and why should non-believers listen to us... they shouldn't. God gave us all minds... I believe we should all use them, don't believe someone just because they "claim" to be right.

I belong to the camp that says, you should take it literal unless the scripture tells you it is a parable.
God is supernatural and all Christians accept that He does exist.
So why would we discount supernatural events like miracles?

That is an answer we should all seek for ourselves. We can't rely on others to provide that which only God can give.
