I feel confident enough now that I can do it from the smallest of photographs.
This is not solicitation.
I just did an 11"X14" of Barbaro, and it's near completion.
I only use oil paint, and have done well over 100 paintings.
Thanks...those were just a few of what I created. Barbaro took me five hours, I may put it on ebay and donate most of procceds to the New Bolton Center. (email didn't work)
Painting in the fine art, like the masters of the Renaissance, takes many long hours of working on a subject until it becomes what I call supreme realism.

I am an airbrush artist. Sorry, no website yet, but my portrait work is often mistaken for being actual photographs...they're not...digital or otherwise...they are all handpainted from photos and usually with Createx airbrush acrylics. I can even make them appear to have been painted with a conventional paint brush by coating the finished art with a clear gel impasto and adding brush strokes into the gel, in the proper directions and places. Some people veiw airbrush art as "T-Shirt" art, but I see it as just another art form in my vast arsenal of tools...It lends itself to portraiture, very well. For more info, feel free to e-mail me at (rickthesignguy@hotmail.com)

Do you want the black and white photos to be color paintings?
If so, I think my first source listed below (Jerry Glasper) can do the job for you. He's extremely talented and nice!
Another artist who works in pastels and oils is Michael Cochran
(2nd Link below)
If you want black and white photos to be black and white pencil illustrations (Darla Dixon, me) can do it.
There are also computer graphic artists who could probably create something for you. The computer graphic artists are probably your best bet, if price is more important to you than the result being original artwork.
Be careful of the sites that offer paintings from photos that employ artists in Asia. I have had people contact me with questions about them and they have reported that many of those sites have complaints lodged against them with the Better Business Bureau. Check out their credibility before you send them any money.
I hope this helps!

Try hellosanantonio.com and if you find an artist who's style you like, contact the artist. It never hurts to ask and you may find that some are quite reasonable.
